Stop Posting Graphic-Filled Posts—Here’s What to Do Instead!

Writer: Jenna GelowJenna Gelow

Have you ever spent time designing a text-heavy graphic for social media, only for it to get little to no engagement? You’re not alone! The truth is, people scroll fast, and posts filled with too much text or cluttered graphics often get skipped right over.

So, what should you do instead? Let’s talk about what actually works.

Use Real Images & Videos Instead of Overloaded Graphics

Social media is meant to be engaging and visual. People connect with real moments, real people, and real brands. That’s why a high-quality photo or short-form video will always outperform a graphic crammed with words.

Share behind-the-scenes moments Post high-quality brand photography Showcase customer testimonials in video form Feature product or service demos

People want to feel immersed in your content—not overloaded with information at first glance.

Keep Text Minimal & Let Your Caption Do the Talking

If you have too much text on an image, people won’t take the time to read it. Instead, use minimal text (if any at all) and explain everything in the caption where people are more likely to engage.

🎯 Example: What NOT to do: Post a flyer filled with text about your sale What TO do: Post an eye-catching photo of your product in use and explain the sale details in the caption

Always Include a CTA (Call to Action!)

Even the best posts won’t convert if you don’t tell people what to do next! Make sure your posts always end with a clear and direct CTA:

💬 “Drop a comment below with your favorite!” 📩 “DM me for details!” 🔗 “Click the link in my bio to book!”

Your audience needs direction. Don’t leave them guessing!

Final Thoughts

If you want your social media content to stand out, ditch the word-filled graphics and focus on engaging visuals, strong captions, and clear CTAs. Your audience will thank you for it!
