How I Helped the 1st Annual Summer Harvest Festival Revamp Their Website & Boost Social Media Engagement
At Jenna Gelow Designs, I believe that a website should be more than just a digital brochure—it should be an effective tool for engaging your audience, building your brand, and driving real results. One of my most recent projects was the website redesign and social media marketing strategy for the 1st Annual Summer Harvest Festival in Hampshire County, WV. Here’s how I turned a last-minute challenge into a success story that not only enhanced the festival’s digital presence but also increased traffic, engagement, and lead generation.

The Challenge: Outdated Website and Limited Marketing Strategy
When I was first approached to redesign the Summer Harvest Festival website, it was clear that the site had a lot of room for improvement. The website had very few written pages, and much of the content was embedded in images with text, which isn’t ideal for search engine optimization (SEO). This made it difficult for potential attendees to find key information, and it limited the festival's ability to rank well on Google and other search engines.
The site also lacked cohesive branding and a user-friendly experience, which made it hard for the festival to connect with the local audience it was hoping to attract.
The Solution: A Full Website Overhaul + Integrated Marketing Approach
I dove into the project with a clear goal in mind: transform the website and social media presence into something that was visually compelling, user-friendly, and SEO-optimized while helping the festival reach more people through targeted marketing.
Here’s how I approached the redesign:
Website Overhaul & SEO Optimization
I completely overhauled the website, focusing on clean, well-organized pages with SEO-friendly copy and strategic keywords to ensure the site ranks well on search engines. Gone were the images with text—replaced with well-written content that speaks directly to the festival’s audience. The new site now offered easy navigation, clear event details, and an engaging design that matched the festival's vibrant energy.
Branded Visuals & Professional Photography
A huge part of the redesign involved capturing professional-quality images and videos that not only enhanced the website but also helped tell the festival’s story. These visuals were woven into the site, and I also used them across their Facebook and Instagram posts to keep the audience engaged and excited leading up to the event.
Digital Forms & Easy Resource Downloads
I implemented digital forms and made key resources like vendor applications and festival maps available for easy download. This streamlined the process for festival attendees, vendors, and organizers, giving them quick access to the resources they needed without any hassle.

Social Media Growth & Integration
With the new website in place, I turned my focus to social media marketing. By integrating the website with the festival’s social media profiles, I was able to create a seamless experience for followers, guiding them from posts on Facebook and Instagram to the website where they could find detailed event information, purchase tickets, and get involved.
In addition to this, I set up an email collection system on the website, helping the festival start building an email list for future promotions, event announcements, and targeted marketing.

Fast Turnaround in Time for the Festival
Given the tight timeline—with the festival just a few weeks away—I worked diligently to get everything ready. I completed the website redesign, social media content, and email marketing setup within the month of July, just in time for the festival’s launch the first weekend of August.
The Results: A Stronger Digital Presence & Increased Engagement
Thanks to the website redesign and integrated marketing efforts, the Summer Harvest Festival saw:
✔ A more user-friendly, SEO-optimized website that allowed visitors to easily find event details, access downloadable resources, and make purchases ✔ Increased traffic to the website from social media channels and search engines ✔ Stronger engagement on social media, with higher interaction on posts featuring the festival's vibrant imagery ✔ A growing email list that can be used for future marketing efforts and promotions
